The Ritz-Carlton Club and Aspen Historical Society Forge Partnership
Club’s Gift to Enhance Society’s Programming to all Aspen Visitors
ASPEN, Colo. – March 1, 2006 – The Ritz-Carlton Club, Aspen Highlands is uniting with the Aspen Historical Society to bring the romantic and remarkable history of Aspen to Ritz-Carlton Club Members, part-time residents and visitors alike. The Ritz-Carlton Club, Aspen Highlands has made a gift of $10,000 to support enhanced visitor programming at the society.
The partnership will have several components, including society membership, private tours and events for Ritz-Carlton Club Members, as well as training for all Ritz-Carlton Club staff in the history and lore of Aspen. One of the first joint programs is an upcoming event at The Ritz-Carlton Club, where a panel of local celebrities and ski patrollers will share stories of Aspen Highlands then and now.
“This is a wonderful alliance for The Ritz-Carlton Club, Aspen Highlands,” said Tina Necrason, director of sales and marketing. “Our Members are thrilled with the opportunity to fully embrace the character of Aspen and become more involved. It’s a clear enhancement to their overall experience here.”
“Aspen Historical Society is excited to use its resources to help build community within this ‘storied’ town,” said Georgia Hanson, executive director of the Aspen Historical Society. “We greatly value The Ritz-Carlton Club’s gift, as it supports story-telling and preservation of Aspen’s remarkable rich history, and enables us to increase our programming for all visitors to Aspen this year.”
In November 2005, Aspen area voters approved a new tax district to ensure additional funding for museums, archives and historical sites in the future. However, that funding will not begin until 2007. “The Ritz-Carlton Club recognized the importance and the urgent need for additional funding and stepped up in a significant way,” added Hanson.
Founded more than 40 years ago, the Aspen Historical Society is dedicated to the future of Aspen’s past. Its museums and historical sites serve approximately 45,000 visitors annually. For more information, visit the Society’s website at www.aspenhistory.org. or call 970.925.3721.
